Terms of Use

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use younote only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. You may not use it if we have previously closed your account.

You sign in with your email address and a six-digit code we send to it. Keep access to that mailbox secure: anyone who can read it can sign in as you. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to your account.

You own what you record, photograph, upload and write. We claim no ownership of it and we do not use it to train any model. We process it only to run the app for you — to store your notes, transcribe your recordings, and produce the summaries and tabs you ask for. The Privacy Policy describes exactly how that works.

This is your responsibility, and it matters more here than in most apps. Laws about recording conversations differ from place to place, and in many of them everyone present must consent. Before you record a conversation, make sure you are allowed to. We are not in a position to know who is in the room, and we cannot take responsibility for recordings you make.

Please do not use younote to:

• break the law, or help anyone else to
• record or store material you have no right to record or store
• upload malicious code, or attempt to breach, overload or probe the service
• attempt to reach another person's notes or account
• resell or redistribute the service as your own

Transcripts, summaries, minutes, checklists, titles and assistant answers are generated by AI models. They are frequently useful and they are sometimes wrong — a transcript can mishear a word, and a summary can state something the recording never said.

Treat generated text as a draft, not a record. Do not rely on it for medical, legal, financial or any other consequential decision without checking it against the original. Where a generated tab and the transcript disagree, the transcript is the better evidence, and the recording is better still.

younote may offer paid subscriptions. Where it does, the purchase is billed by Apple or Google through the store you installed the app from, not by us, and it is governed by that store’s terms as well as these.

• A subscription renews automatically for the same period until you cancel it.
• Cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings, at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds are the store's to give, under its own policy. We cannot issue them.
• If a free trial is offered, it becomes a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel before then.
• Prices can change. We will tell you first, and a change applies from the next renewal.

Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not shorten the period you have already paid for, and your notes stay where they are.

As a consumer in the EU you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase of digital content. By starting to use a subscription straight away, you are asking us to begin before that period ends and acknowledging that you lose the right to withdraw once it has been fully performed. This does not affect your statutory rights where a service is faulty.

younote is built on services we do not operate — notably OpenAI, for transcription and generation, and our own hosting and database providers. Their availability and their handling of data are governed by their terms as well as ours. The Privacy Policy names them.

We may change, suspend or discontinue parts of younote. We will try to give reasonable notice of anything significant, but we may have to act immediately for security or legal reasons. The service is offered as it is, and we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

You may stop using younote at any time and ask us to delete your account and its contents. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or where we are required to. If we close your account, we will make a reasonable effort to let you retrieve your notes first, unless the law prevents it.

To the extent the law allows, younote is provided “as is” and without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost data or profits. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. younote is not a backup service.

These terms are governed by Swedish law, and the courts of Sweden have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, and you may also bring a claim in your own country’s courts.

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top, and we will tell you in the app if the change is a significant one. Continuing to use younote after a change means you accept the updated terms.
